Progressive Fitness Training with 5BX
The 5BX fitness program was originally developed for the Royal Canadian Airforce as a progressive fitness training program based on scientific principles. The simple excercises are strucured in a way so as not to require a separate warm up and to train the body in a balanced mannner.
5BX is designed to be carried out in a limited space, without equipment and unsupervised. You start at a very low level and build up within your own capabilities. You can progress through the levels as quickly as a day at a time if you're already young and fit, but you should resist the temptation to jump straignt in at a higher level.
The beauty of it is that even if you're currently unfit you can still safely benefit from the 5BX fitness program. Most adults would find the excercises in chart 1 of the program very easy. Nonetheless there is a structured way of progressing through them safely that changes depending on your personal level of fitness.
One days excercise should be completed in 11 minutes (12 minutes for women using the XBX program), thus the plan can be integrated into your normal daily routine and does not require a trip to the gym - it's a god-send!
